Synthetic people, intact households
A saved Rhode Island population-synthesis run generated 1,042,763 synthetic people in 441,570 households from U.S. Census data. Output checks found no membership errors, orphan records, duplicate IDs or copied-attribute mismatches.
Measured demographic reconstruction
Across 41 held-out U.S. regions, mean six-cell age-by-poverty total variation distance fell from 0.014348 to 0.008881, a 38.1% reduction against an independence baseline. 29 regions improved and 12 worsened. Inputs and targets share the same Census source; this is not independent validation of human behavior.
Evidence boundaries
Manager remains an isolated research project, separate from Life Manager production. Human behavior, causal effects and welfare benefits remain unvalidated. The long-term ambition is to understand how changes to shared conditions could reduce suffering.
